Office Applications
Microsoft Office Standard 2007 is the essential software suite for homes and small businesses. It enables an individual to quickly and easily create professional-looking documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, and it conveniently manages e-mail. New Minds Learning Center's Office 2007 courses enable clerical and office professionals to develop important skills in typing, data entry as well as Internet literacy, and serves as an effective introduction to the basic features of Microsoft's powerful desktop applications.
Our course training for Microsoft Office Professional 2007 is a complete suite of productivity and database software. Students will acquaint themselves with many of the integration points of the 2007 Microsoft Office system, and they’ll understand how work is made easier through the seamless interaction of the products they know and use.
Projects include: Business Letter, Presentation Design (PowerPoint), Memos, E-mail, Resume (Curriculum Vitae) and Cover Letter workshops, Spreadsheets, Charts and Graphs.
Microsoft Certification information is available upon completion of the program.
Graphic Design
Come and learn the skills and techniques of computer graphics, digital imaging and production, which will help you to launch or accelerate your creative career in the Graphic Arts. New Minds Learning Center's Graphic Design program will acquaint you with the basic skills and techniques that graphic designers, web designers, print designers, interface designers, branding/logo/identity designers, and advertising professionals utilize in the real world today. Students learn how to create graphic-rich content, high-resolution vector renderings, touch-up photographic images, typography solutions, and many other design functions to help them deliver their best work.
Projects include: CD and DVD design, Poster Design, Business Card (Stationery Design), Brand/Logo Design, Postcard Design, Book and Layout Design, Banner and Sign Design and Publication Design.
Publication Design will be the actual production of a community-based newspaper and will be totally designed by New Minds Learning Center students.
Adobe Certification information is available upon completion of the program.
Web Design
Students of the New Minds Learning Center's Web Design program begin with the basic skills that lay the foundation for producing web design, and then are introduced to the function of each part of a Website for the purpose of applying the principle of visual form and information.
The basics of HTML coding and a fundamental understanding of PHP give students familiar with Dreamweaver the tools necessary to get started in the world of Web Development. Supplemental studies of Cascading Style Sheets and JavaScript Programming provides them with a level of advanced knowledge that will assist them in their pursuit of work in the web environment.
Projects Include: Web Design, Web Animation (using Flash and JavaScript), Blogs and Social Network integration.
